301 Fighter Wing Deployment
Seems that we hear that word more and more these days. It is happening to reservists across this nation, and our friends at the 301st Air Wing are no exception. A number of our FWAPCouncil members have been good enough to rise early in order to be on hand to wish them “God’s speed” on their journey to the Middle East. Many of these troops are on their third, fourth, or even more deployment, leaving families behind in North Texas as they move on to help protect the freedom of so many of us.
We have received emails from these troops expressing their gratitude for the generosity of our FWAPFoundation and the many thousands of dollars in phone credit cards we provide to these departing troops. Where possible, we have also provided their family members with similar free calling cards.
While we email and post to our web site advance notice of these deployments to FWAPC members, quite often it is very short notice. To those of you who have made these departure ceremonies, you know how the NAS/JRB various organizations appreciate our support. If you have not made it to a deployment, please try to do so. It is a special feeling to be thanked by these troops, as we are thanking them for their service to our nation.
Note that you must advise secretary@fwapc.org in advance each time before attending a deployment in order for gate security to pass you through. The FWAPC will do our best to get the notices to you as soon as we receive word from the deploying unit commands.
