Col Pottinger addressing the FWAPC Board

“SENIOR LEADERSHIP VISION OF AIRFORCE RESERVE” –COL. KEVIN POTTINGER

Col. Kevin Pottinger was a guest of the FWAPC Board, having just returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. where he attended an Air Force briefing by the Secretary of the Air Force, the A.F. Chief of Staff, as well the Commander of the A.F. Reserve. The topics were varied, but several key issues ranked at the very top: AEF Cycle (deployments), Taking care of our Airmen, Nuclear Mission, Cyber space and Modernizing weapons systems.

Col. Pottinger gave the board and advisors a very thorough explanation of each of the priorities. There is a focus on our varied military services working closely together more so than ever before, especially in this economic climate. He pointed out the importance the role the civilian employee and employer play in our military today, and the appreciation he and so many of the military have for community support, and the Fort Worth Airpower Council.

Jim Thomason told the Colonel that we would have FWAPC members present for the deployment on February 17th, and that arrangements are being made to supply all of the departing troops with the gift phone cards. ”Potts” expressed his appreciation for the support NAS/JRB receives from the Council and Foundation.
